Q: How can I ensure my product meets EMC requirements? Select the Target Market EMC requirements vary from country to country. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of the current regulatory demands of the target market. For example, countries like India currently have no formal EMC regulations, whereas Taiwan has very strict requirements in this area.     Self-Declaration In recent years, regulatory authorities around the world have shifted from traditional application submission methods—which are often slow and inefficient—to manufacturer self-testing and declaration processes. This means that products can now be labeled with CE and FCC marks and shipped to the EU and the United States without prior government approval. However, self-testing and declaration do not mean that imported products are exempt from complying with CE standards. In fact, placing CE or FCC marks on non-compliant products can result in serious consequences if discovered during inspection. Chinway Technology is equipped with certified facilities and technical expertise to provide reliable test reports, ensuring your goods pass customs smoothly and avoiding unnecessary issues.   Third-Party Verification Independent third-party laboratories can verify product compliance through testing. This method enhances the credibility of product quality and conformity, especially in marketing and certification assurance.   Official Certification Certain countries have specific management requirements for certain products. For example:In Taiwan, all imported products must be reviewed by the government and granted a BSMI certificate. In the EU, manufacturers are allowed to declare CE compliance through self-declaration.In the U.S., wireless transmission products must be submitted for official FCC evaluation and certification. It’s important to note that, in addition to testing fees, certification submission fees typically apply. These can range from a few hundred to several thousand U.S. dollars, depending on the certification body and product type. In both cases, you are obligated to provide test data as evidence that the product meets the applicable requirements. Using a professional and independent third-party laboratory helps ensure the completeness of the test items and the reliability of the test data. Q: How should the CE mark be labeled? The CE mark must follow the specified proportions, with the height of the letters “CE” being at least 5mm, and it must be affixed directly on the product. If, due to the nature of the product, it is not possible to affix the CE mark on the product itself, it may instead be placed on the packaging. For products requiring the involvement of a European Notified Body—such as Class I medical devices—the CE mark must be accompanied by the Notified Body’s identification number (e.g., DNV (0434), TUV (0139)). BSMI Certification / Battery Testing Certification / Information Sharing

BSMI Certification / Battery Testing Certification / Knowledge Sharing Number Classification: – Commodity Inspection Code Link Query Link:  – Single Window for Customs and Trade Facilitation Verification Login【R-Code System】Before a product is released from the factory or imported, the manufacturer must submit the product type test report, declaration of conformity, designated relevant documents and technical files, ISO or factory inspection quality assurance certificates. Upon review and approval, a Verification Registration Certificate will be issued with a validity period of 3 years.Once certified, the manufacturer may release or import the product without applying for batch-by-batch inspection. Therefore, verification registration can replace batch inspection, avoiding repeated testing of the same product type, saving working days for each import or release, and reducing costs related to inspection application, sampling, and labeling of conformity marks. Type Approval【T-Code System】 Manufacturers are required to apply for inspection for each batch at the time of production or import, resulting in repeated testing of the same product type. This leads to significant costs for product inspection applications, sampling, and the labeling of conformity marks, as well as the working days needed to carry out batch-by-batch inspections each time.  Declaration of Conformity【D-Code System】 The manufacturer conducts the inspection independently based on the inspection standards and declares that the product complies with the standards. This inspection method allows the manufacturer to better control the product’s market release schedule and is mainly applicable to the inspection of information technology product components. BSMI Application The list of BSMI products/regulations is as follows: Product Category Applicable Regulations Applicable Products (Examples) Information Technology Products CNS 13438 & CNS 14336 Fast chargers, dash cameras, power banks, wireless chargers, personal computers and their peripheral products, etc. Audio and Video Products CNS 13439 & CNS 14408 Bluetooth Speaker, Video Recorder, Wireless Digital TV Box/Set-Top Box Home appliances related products CNS 13783-1 & IEC 60335 Motor driven home appliances, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, hair dryers, vacuum cleanersSwitches using semiconductors (e.g. relays)Power ToolsElectronic Toys Lighting equipment products CNS 14115 & IEC 60598-1 Indoor and outdoor lamps, ballasts, independent peripherals of lamps (e.g. dimmers, transformers, inverters, ultraviolet and infrared application products, street lamps, street lamps, interior lighting of vehicles, emergency lighting) Multimedia Equipment CNS 15936 & CNS 15598-1 will replace CNS13438 and CNS13439 from December 31, 2014 (Please refer to the BSMI announcement date) Wireless Charger CNS 13803 Wireless Charger Related Products Inspection method to be applied Inspection Methods Batch-by-Batch Inspection Surveillance Inspection Manufacturers must apply to the Bureau for inspection for every batch of products. Manufacturers must apply to the Bureau for surveillance inspection for every batch, and inspections are conducted based on product risk level.
