NCC / Wireless Products

NCC stands for the National Communications Commission, which is Taiwan’s regulatory authority for communications and broadcasting. It was established to support the development of telecommunications and broadcasting in Taiwan, and is mainly responsible for frequency management, radio spectrum testing, domain names, website regulation, and related international cooperation.
All communication and information technology equipment must obtain NCC certification before being marketed or used in Taiwan.

NCC primarily regulates the following two categories of products:

LPE: Low Power Equipment (e.g., Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices)
TTE: Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (e.g., mobile phones and tablets)

Taiwan NCC Certification Guidelines

Can be divided into three types of certification methods:

1. Type Approval

Low power radio-frequency equipment operating at frequencies of 1GHz or below, excluding wireless data transmission equipment or equipment using frequency hopping or digital modulation.
Low power radio-frequency equipment operating at frequencies above 1GHz, excluding wireless data transmission equipment or equipment using frequency hopping or digital modulation.
Wireless data transmission equipment or low power radio-frequency equipment using frequency hopping or digital modulation.

NCC Certification Process

According to NCC regulations, when a manufacturer applies for type approval verification,The following documents are required:

– User Manual：One copy of the user manual or instruction manual in Chinese or English
– Specification Data：One copy of the specification data in Chinese or English.
– Circuit Diagram：One copy of the circuit diagram or block diagram.
– Test Report：One copy of the equipment sample test report.
– Company Registration Certificate：One copy of the company registration certificate or business registration certificate. If the applicant is a foreign manufacturer, relevant documents proving the establishment of the manufacturer must be provided.
– Business Operation License：One copy of the business operation license for telecommunications-controlled radio frequency equipment. Distributors must provide the business operation license of the manufacturer or importer for telecommunications-controlled radio frequency equipment. Foreign manufacturers or applicants applying for non-radio telecommunications terminal equipment verification are exempt from this requirement.
– Other specified documents：Other documents as specified by the NCC
– Application Form：One copy of the application form.
– CD-ROM：One copy of the CD-ROM.

NCC application review fees are as follows: (NCC certificate fees are subject to adjustments based on the official NCC website)
